Transient & Steady State Analysis

Transient / Steady State Study

Transient over-currents and over-voltages are caused by switching operations or lightning strikes to electric facilities damaging sensitive equipment or disrupt operation. Our analysis of transient phenomena uses simulation tools to characterize transient events, determine resulting problems, and evaluate possible mitigation alternatives. In steady state our analysis involves operational parameter like construction, load flow, protection coordination, power sharing etc.

Losses due to Ineffective Control Systems

1. Grid failures due to load Imbalance, desynchronization,

    under-voltage conditions

2. Equipment failure due to voltage & current surges

3. Aging of equipment

4. High transmission & distribution losses

Solutions We Provide

We use EMTP-RV as our transient simulation program to analyse potential switching problems associated with a variety of utility and customer equipment operations. Analysis results include recommendations for optimum solutions to possible switching problems. We perform following studies:

  1. Transient study on power system design, HVDC, Insulation Coordination, Lightning, Switching Surges, Ferroresonance, Motor starting, etc.
  2. 2. Steady state study for Network Analysis, Device coordination, ground grid design, Modelling of Cable system, DC system, Transformer, Control system, transmission system, distribution system, power management system etc.
